F.R.I.E.N.D.S - 4

PeriyaKaruppan Kannappan - On the first day on my college, we guys were introducing ourselves to each other. Evening in the hostel, the same happened with hostel guys and other roomies etc. It was like , "hi da, where r u from? which school? if in chennai which area??? somthing of that kind". I was speaking to a couple of guys to know about them and also telling about myself......After sometime, i asked a guy, "hi da, wats ur name? which school??" immediately i felt hot iron on my cheeks, it was going red and later pain..........."Dai naan thaan da peri, innaikku kaalaila thana da ketta, class la rendu perum full day onna thana da ukkanthirunthom". Wow wat an introduction. The best part was he later become my room mate...We spent 4 years in the same class, but the time we really enjoyed came in the hostel room......................Cant forget that golden period......He was very sentimental. There will be four cots in a room, peri's cot is next to mine, in a distance of 5-6 feet. He will have chalk marks at the bottom of his cot. If we move his cot on either side, he will shout like hell.........cot thalli potta thhokam varathaam........appa ulagam suthuthey athukku enna machan panrathu???????????????he is the one guy who maintains everything well, keeps the room clean. Infact he never keeps anything till the last minute....Which I do very much.....I still remember we both go to exam hall together and have fun in the mean time, to get rid of exam fear..............sema days da, i wont get it back......Everyone will have visitors during hostel days, but they wont be allowed inside the hostel, instead they will be asked to meet us in the visitor's room. But all of us(4 roommates, me,peri,ganesh,naga karthik) will have common visitors on and off, which will come directly into our room......its nothing but the FROG, which visits us on and often, gives us trouble....We will try enroute it out, with the help of EG(engineering graphics) pad.....Definately i need to say about Room cricket.....We used to play cricket inside the room, if the warden gets to know about the room cricket, then it will end up in suspension, so ntg can be compared with this thrill.........Once we were playing, i bowled a knee height full toss, peri might have got inspiration from sehwag then, hit the ball like a rocket............and the result was one tube light.................You should see peri's reaction.........shivering, face full of sweat........We tried to do many things like changing tube from other room, etc etc...but nothing worked out........peri then gave a plan...........avaru pant uh thovachi eduthuttu vandhu tube light pakkathla irukura kodila pottaram, pant pattu tube light odanchirucham. Entha kenayan aavahu nambhuvana???????But our college watchman do........he replaced it with a new bulb and thank god everyone was safe........Another incident is that, in the college canteen, one girl who studied along with him in school called him "Peri", the senior gang there kalasified him, "pera paaru peri, sori nnnu"......we often ottify him with that girl..........he will get tensed again.........During the first sem, he wont speak with girls itself, ethavathu oru ponnu vandhu pesana pothum payanukku tension aagidum, verthu kottum, kai ellam nadungum, but now he has expertized the art................that too getting phone numbers from girls,,,,,,,,,peri beats peri here...........After first year, i vacated hostel and moved off campus, but peri stayed there. During the second year, even though we both were in the same class, we didnt share much during these days.....Only during the 3rd year, peri become my benchmate, then the fun started again..............Once there was a group discussion, about the topic Brain Drain. Peri, kavi and another guy VS 3 girls. The GD started and the discussion was going vehemently. They were discussing about how people go to US and never return back settling there itself...when peri's term came he gave a statement which stunned all of us a secong, "Anyway Popluation is reduced no"........Wow wat a statement, no one thought of this way, thats PERI.........One more time he called me from an unknown number, i asked whos this, he said P to the E to the R to the I.....PERI...........everyone was stunned.......... Principles of Management is a subject, neither of us like, because it was full of theory and also a management paper...Obviously everyone got less marks and Peri to the extreme got a F(ail) in the subject for Midterm, the next day he was very sad.............."Macha veetla POM fail aanathala, thirumba hostel kku anupiruvom nnu bayamurthuraanga da".....we dont know wat to do, to laugh or to console him.......Oh my god,,,,,even peri will laugh when he sees this.........He has got tremendous problem solving skills, which gave him the name, KING OF COMPILERS by Prof.Boominathan.........He has got golden tongue too......During TCS interview Peri got eliminated in the aptitude round itself, ajay who cleared that round was walking opp to him, they both exchanged their results, after that peri said, "Macha, nee yum adutha round la veliya vandhurra" just for fun, and it happened, Ajay being a topper of 2 sems, no one expected him to get out in Technical round where he's is damn strong........From that day on, everyone fears to speak against peri.............. He's a very sensitive guy. He takes everything serious either its a comment passed against him or the loyalty of friendship.........We once decided surprise him, as we guys were planning to go to Tiruttani(my native) and bangalore for a holiday trip, just two days after his birthday, we decided not to wish him on his birthday. We guys made a surprise arrangement to celebrate his birthday on train.....

But we never thought from his point of view, where he was really depressed , frustrated and angry over us, since we didnt wish him on his birthday....From his looks itself we understood that he is very angry, he didnt even speak a word with us, untill he saw the cake(with his name on it)..........Wow it was a fun to cut cake in train...........In Bangalore he did lots of comedy, he shares a special friendship with Abhinav and his ARS algorithm. Life will be great and full of fun once u have him as a friend. A person with great sense of humor and his timing and slang will be exceptional.....................Really miss you a lot da.............looking forward to have fun with u and our gang AGAIN..............
